Nothing will slow Donald Trump in his efforts to become President of the United States for a second time, it seems, as the bookmakers continue to favour him for the Republican candidacy.
Despite two impeachments and a recent FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago property to recover government documents—believed to be related to nuclear weapons—it seems many people still want ‘The Donald’ as leader.
And bet365 has kept the former Apprentice host at the top of its list when it comes to the next figure likely to run the Republican ballot for 2024, currently listed as a +115 favourite.
Florida governor Ron DeSantis is the only other likely contender at odds of +137, with the next closest rival—former vice-President Mike Pence—all the way out at +1400.
Trump—who will be 78 when the next President is decided on November 5, 2024—has made no secret of his intention to run for office again and appeared to confirm as much just last month.
“Well, in my own mind, I’ve already made that decision, so nothing factors in anymore,” he told New York magazine in July. “In my own mind, I’ve already made that decision.”
