Sports betting in the digital age continues to innovate on an unprecedented scale after Sportradar launched new markets centred around ‘Virtual NBA’ games.
The sports technology provider will use ‘artificial intelligence and machine-learning technologies’ to give operators around 3,000 new betting events every day.
The innovation will use actual NBA data to draw conclusions in the digital-only matchups, with engineers devising unique solutions to mimic the odds and outcomes of historic games that have taken place.
“Through the introduction of Virtual NBA, featuring the names and logos of NBA teams, Sportradar is providing operators with dynamic new basketball content to drive engagement with the sport and provide fans with access to NBA betting markets, even in the off season,” said Frank Wenzig, managing director of gaming at Sportradar.
The NBA is the latest sport to get the esports virtual treatment but is far from Sportradar’s first following similar launches in baseball (MLB), as well as cricket and the virtual Bundesliga (soccer).
