Best betting offers in Ireland: free bets and bonus bets compared

  1. 1

QuinnBet Ireland: Bet €10, Get €60 in Free Bets

    Biggest free bet in Ireland

Best for: Irish and UK horse racing

Six times your qualifying stake, which is the best ratio available to an Irish account. An independent book with Irish roots and a long-standing focus on racing rather than football.

€60 max value 6x your stake Min odds apply Expiry applies
Qualify with a €10 bet · min odds apply

British Gambler verdict: The biggest betting offer in Ireland, and worth claiming for that alone — but the free bets carry more market restrictions than most, so plan to use them on straight singles at Fairyhouse or Punchestown rather than on a bet builder.

18+, GamblingCare.ie. New customers only. Min €10 deposit & qualifying bet. Min odds and bet type restrictions apply. Free bets subject to expiry and market restrictions. T&Cs apply. 18+. GamblingCare.ie.

SBK Ireland: Bet €10, Get €50 in Free Bets

    Sharpest Irish prices

Best for: Premier League and Champions League football

Prices come off the Smarkets exchange rather than a trading room, so the margin on a football market is thinner than at a traditional book. Tokens include Bet Builder and multiples restrictions.

€50 in tokens Exchange-derived odds Odds 2.00+ Expires in 5 days
Qualify with €10 at 2.00 · tokens expire in 5 days

British Gambler verdict: Good value on paper and genuinely good Irish prices, but five days is the tightest window of any bookmaker promo here. Only claim it in a week you know you will be betting — a Saturday football card is the natural home for the tokens.

18+, GamblingCare.ie. New Ireland customers only. Min €10 first deposit using Debit Card or Bank Transfer. Place a €10 bet at min odds of 2.0 and receive €50 in Free Bet Tokens. Free Bet Tokens include Bet Builder, Multiple and Horse Racing Multiple restrictions. Unused Free Bets expire 5 days after credit. Full T&Cs apply. Play responsibly. 18+.

LiveScoreBet Ireland: Bet €10, Get €50 in Free Bets

    Easiest €50 free bet

Best for: Irish and UK football, including the League of Ireland

The same €50 as SBK but the qualifier only needs odds of 1.50, and you get 14 days from sign-up to place it. Built around the LiveScore app most Irish punters already have.

€50 in free bets Odds 1.50+ 14 days to qualify Accept within 7 days
Qualify with €10 at 1.50 · 14 days to place it

British Gambler verdict: The best balance of any Irish welcome offer between what you get and what it costs to get it. At 1.50 you can qualify on a short-priced favourite rather than gambling the tenner, which is why we would start here.

18+, GamblingCare.ie. New members. €10 min deposit & bet on sportsbook (ex. virtuals), placed & settled at 1.50 min odds in 14 days of sign-up. Win part of E/W bets. Free Bets: accept in 7 days, valid for 7 days on select sportsbook markets, stakes not returned. T&Cs and deposit exclusions apply. Bet Responsibly. GamblingCare.ie. 18+.

BoyleSports Ireland: Bet €10, Get €40 in Free Bets

    Best Irish bookmaker

Best for: GAA, Irish racing and Irish greyhounds

Founded in Dundalk in 1982 and still the largest independent bookmaker in the country. Prices the club championships and Irish greyhound cards that UK-built books treat as an afterthought.

€30 free bets + €10 casino 30 days to qualify Odds 2.00+ Casino bonus 5x wagering
Qualify with €10 at 2.00 · 30 days to place it

British Gambler verdict: The welcome offer is mid-table, the Irish coverage is not. If you bet on hurling, football or the dogs, this is the account that will still be useful in February — and 30 days to qualify is the most forgiving window here.

18+, GamblingCare.ie. New Ireland & Northern Ireland customers only. Min €10 deposit. Place a €10+ bet at min odds 2.00 (Evens) within 30 days of opening your account. Qualifying deposits exclude Skrill/Moneybookers, Neteller, PayPal, Apple Pay and prepaid cards. Receive €30 in Free Bets + €10 Casino Bonus. Free Bets expire after 7 days. Casino Bonus must be accepted within 14 days and has a 5x wagering requirement. Cashed-out bets do not qualify. Free Bet stakes not returned. T&Cs apply. 18+.

Betway Ireland: Bet €10, Get €40 in Free Bets

    Four bonus bets

Best for: Football and tennis, four bonus bets

€40 split into four €10 tokens rather than one lump, so you get four goes instead of one. Esports and virtual sports are excluded, and deposits must be by debit card.

4 × €10 tokens Odds 2.00+ Debit card only 7 days from registration
Qualify with €10 at 2.00 · debit card only

British Gambler verdict: Four separate bonus bets is the sensible way to take a free bet — one losing selection does not wipe out the whole offer. Spread them across a weekend football card rather than firing them at one accumulator.

18+, GamblingCare.ie. New ROI customers only. Place your first bet of €10+ at odds of Evens (2.00) or higher to qualify for €40 in free bets. Esports and virtual sports excluded. 4 x €10 Free Bets with betting restrictions. Debit card deposits only. Offer valid for 7 days from registration. Full terms apply. 18+. GamblingCare.ie.

William Hill Ireland: Bet €10, Get €40 in Free Bets

Low bar on a €40 free bet

Best for: Irish racing, football and Six Nations rugby

One of the few €40 offers that qualifies at 1.50 rather than evens. A century of trading behind it and a much improved app since the rebuild.

€40 in free bets Odds 1.50+ Stakes not returned
Qualify with €10 at 1.50 · stakes not returned

British Gambler verdict: Cheaper to unlock than Betway’s €40 bonus bet for the same money, which makes it the better of the two if you are only opening one. Best used on the ante-post markets, where Hills price up earlier than most.

18+, GamblingCare.ie. New customers only. Min €10 deposit & bet at 1.50+ to qualify. Free Bets subject to expiry, qualifying market and payment restrictions. Stakes not returned. T&Cs apply. 18+. GamblingCare.ie.

bet365 Ireland: Bet €10, Get €30 in Bet Credits

    Smallest IE deposit

Best for: Every Irish and UK market, with free streaming

Only €5 needs to be in the account to begin, the lowest here. The broadest book on this page, with free streaming on thousands of events a year and the deepest in-play markets.

Min deposit €5 €30 in bet credits Stake excluded from returns
    Qualify with a €10 bet · €5 minimum deposit

British Gambler verdict: The smallest offer of the big names, and the one you would open anyway. Take it for the product rather than the €30 betting offer — the streaming and in-play depth are worth more over a season than the credits are.

18+, GamblingCare.ie. New customers only. Min deposit €5. Bet €10 to receive €30 in Bet Credits. Min odds, payment method and Bet Credit restrictions apply. Bet Credits exclude stake from returns. T&Cs apply. 18+. GamblingCare.ie.

Ladbrokes Ireland: Bet €5, Get €30 in Free Bets

    Cheapest IE entry

Best for: Irish football and horse racing, lowest entry

A €5 bet at 1.50 returns six €5 tokens — the lowest outlay on this page. More than thirty sports priced, with 14 days to place the qualifier.

    Only €5 to qualify 6 × €5 tokens Odds 1.50+ 14 days to qualify
Qualify with €5 at 1.50 · 14 days to place it

British Gambler verdict: Six times your money back for a fiver is the best value-per-euro free bet in Ireland. The obvious first account for anyone who does not want to risk a tenner to find out whether they like the site.

18+, GamblingCare.ie. 18+. New UK & ROI customers only. Certain deposit methods & bet types excluded. Coral Ireland: Bet €5, Get €30 in Free Bets

    Cheapest IE entry

Best for: Irish racing and greyhounds

The same shape as Ladbrokes — €30 from a €5 bet at 1.50 — with racing coverage and streaming as the stronger half of the product.

    Only €5 to qualify 6 × €5 tokens Odds 1.50+ Valid 7 days
Qualify with €5 at 1.50 · tokens valid 7 days

British Gambler verdict: Both sit under Entain, so claiming one makes the other unlikely to treat you as new. Pick Coral over Ladbrokes if you bet mainly on racing, and the other way round if you do not.

18+, GamblingCare.ie. 18+. New UK + ROI customers only. Certain deposit methods & bet types excluded. Min first €5 bet within 14 days of account registration at min odds 1/2 to get 6 x €5 Free Bets. Selected sportsbook markets only, valid 7 days, stakes not returned. Restrictions + T&Cs apply.

Smarkets Ireland: 0% Commission for 60 Days

    Best for regular Irish punters

Best for: Irish racing, football and politics markets

A betting exchange rather than a bookmaker: you bet against other punters, and the offer removes commission for sixty days instead of handing you a token.

No commission for 60 days Exchange, not a bookmaker Bookmaker promo code Min deposit €10
€10 first deposit · 60 days from sign-up Promo Code COMMFREE

British Gambler verdict: Worth more than any Irish free bet if you bet weekly, because it improves every bet rather than funding one. Worth nothing if you bet twice a month. Know which you are before claiming it.

18+, GamblingCare.ie. Use code COMMFREE to trade with 0% commission for 60 days. New UK, IE & Malta users only. Min. €10 first deposit using Debit Card or Instant Banking. Full T&Cs apply. 18+.

10bet Ireland: 100% up to €50 Welcome Bonus

    Matched deposit bonus

Best for: Football accumulators, matched bonus

A 100% match up to €50 rather than free bets, carrying 10x wagering over 30 days. A withdrawal voids whatever bonus is left.

100% matched to €50 Wagering 10x Valid 30 days Withdrawal voids the bonus
Deposit and match · 10x wagering over 30 days

British Gambler verdict: The biggest headline bonus and the hardest terms of any IE promo here. €500 of turnover to clear a €50 bonus only makes sense if you were going to bet that much anyway — otherwise take a free bet elsewhere.

18+, GamblingCare.ie. Choose bonus at signup. Deposit and get 100% bonus up to €50. Wager bonus 10x. Withdrawals void bonus. Valid 30 days. Deposit used 1st. Odds, bet & payment limits & T&Cs apply. 18+.

The five best sports betting bonus offers in Ireland right now – 2026

  • QuinnBet — bet €10, get €60 in free bets. The biggest return on this page by some distance: six times your qualifying stake. Free bets carry expiry and market restrictions, so read the terms before you place the qualifier rather than after.
  • SBK — bet €10, get €50 in free bets. The promo code is optional. Prices come from the Smarkets exchange rather than a trading room, which means lower margins than a traditional bookmaker on the same market. The catch is the clock: tokens expire five days after they land, the shortest window here.
  • LiveScoreBet — bet €10, get €50 in free bets. The same €50 as SBK, but the qualifier only needs odds of 1.50 rather than 2.00. That difference matters more than people think — at evens you are risking your tenner on something close to a coin toss, at 1.50 you are backing a reasonably short price.
  • BoyleSports — bet €10, get €40 in free bets. The one genuinely Irish bookmaker in the list, and the only offer that gives you a full 30 days to place the qualifying bet instead of the usual seven. You also get a €10 casino bonus on top, though that carries 5x wagering.
  • Ladbrokes — bet €5, get €30 in free bets. The cheapest way in. A fiver at 1.50 returns six €5 tokens, which is six separate goes rather than one. Coral runs an almost identical offer; both sit under Entain, so expect the terms to match nearly word for word.

Types of bonus bets you can claim at a betting site in Ireland

Free bets. The most common. You place a qualifying bet, and tokens arrive once it settles. The stake is never returned from a free bet, so a €10 token at 2.00 pays €10 rather than €20.

Bet credits. bet365’s version. They behave like free bets and the stake is likewise excluded from returns, but they sit in a separate balance in the account rather than arriving as individual tokens.

Matched deposit. 10bet’s offer. The bookmaker matches what you put in, but the bonus comes with wagering — 10x in this case — and withdrawing voids whatever is left. This suits someone planning to bet through it, not someone wanting money out quickly.

Commission-free trading. Smarkets. You are betting against other punters on an exchange rather than against a bookmaker, and the offer removes the commission on your winnings for sixty days. No free bet at all, and for a regular punter potentially worth more than one.

Ongoing offers. Extra places, money-back specials and acca insurance are not welcome offers, but they run constantly around Irish racing and football, and over a season they will be worth more to you than any one sign-up bonus.

How to claim one, start to finish

Take the Ladbrokes offer as a worked example, because it is the cheapest and the mechanics are typical.

Open the account and deposit €10 by debit card. Card is the safe choice everywhere — several of these offers exclude e-wallets and prepaid cards from the qualifying deposit, and Betway is debit card only.

Place a €5 bet at odds of 1.50 or better within 14 days. Say it is the Punchestown Festival and you fancy a favourite at 4/6, which is 1.67 in decimal. That qualifies comfortably.

Let it settle. Free bets almost never arrive until the qualifier has been settled, win or lose — and importantly, you do not need it to win.

Six €5 tokens land in the account. Use them within seven days, on the selected markets listed in the terms.

Place a €5 token at 3.00 and you get €10 back, not €15, because the stake is not returned. That is the single most common misunderstanding about free bets, and it is worth doing the sum before you decide an offer is generous.

Pros and cons

What is good about the current crop. The values are genuinely high — €60 for a tenner is a better ratio than the UK market is offering. Qualifying odds have come down, with three offers here asking only 1.50. The cheapest entry is €5. And every operator listed must hold a GRAI licence, which was not true of the Irish market a year ago.

What to watch. Free bet stakes are never returned, so the headline number is always worth more on paper than in your account. Expiry windows are short, five days at SBK and seven almost everywhere else. Excluded payment methods catch people out constantly. And the offers that look biggest sometimes carry the hardest terms — 10bet’s matched €50 comes with 10x wagering, which is a different proposition entirely from a free bet.

What changed on 1 July 2026

For decades, remote bookmakers took Irish bets under a Revenue licence. That ended this year. The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland issued its first remote betting licences on 1 July 2026, and from that morning taking online bets in Ireland without a GRAI licence became illegal.

The register is public and worth two minutes before you open an account anywhere. At the end of July there were eighteen licensed remote operators on it. Betting shops come under the same regime from 1 December 2026, with gaming licences following through 2027. The regulator can fine a licensee up to €20 million or 10% of turnover, whichever is larger.

Are free bets about to disappear in Ireland?

You will have seen headlines saying Irish free bets are finished. They are not, and the detail matters.

Section 157 of the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 restricts inducements — free bets, free credit, VIP hospitality and the like. It is on the statute book. It has not been commenced. As of September 2026 both the inducement restrictions and the 5.30am to 9pm broadcast advertising watershed were still waiting to be switched on.

What the Act will stop, once in force, is targeting: offers aimed at specific individuals or groups rather than made openly to the public. The regulator has been clear about the kind of thing it means — a customer showing signs of harm being sent a free bet to tempt them back. Broad public promotions sit on the other side of that line, though exactly where the line falls will be clearer once the section commences.

Claim what suits you now, and do not assume the same deals will be here in twelve months.

Offers and the Irish sporting calendar

Bookmakers time their best promotions around the events that bring Irish accounts to life. Cheltenham in March is the biggest week of the Irish betting year, followed by the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday and Punchestown at the end of April. The Galway Festival at Ballybrit in late July is a week of its own, the Irish Derby brings the Curragh into view in summer, and the Leopardstown Christmas Festival runs from St Stephen’s Day.

Then there is the GAA. The All-Ireland hurling and football championships generate serious domestic volume, and the firms pricing the club championships through the autumn tend to be the ones taking Irish betting seriously rather than bolting it onto a UK book. The Six Nations, the Premier League and the League of Ireland fill in the rest.

A welcome offer is a one-off. If you are choosing somewhere to stay, the better question is who prices the markets you actually bet on.

What you keep, and what the bookmaker pays

Betting winnings are not taxed in Ireland. Under section 613(2) of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997, winnings from betting sit outside the capital gains net, and there is no income tax on them either. Whatever a free bet returns is yours.

The duty falls on the other side: bookmakers pay 2% betting duty on stakes placed by Irish customers, collected by the Revenue Commissioners. It is their cost, not yours — though it is one reason Irish prices are occasionally a shade shorter than the equivalent UK market.

Bet within your means

Every offer here is aimed at adults who can afford to lose the stake. If betting has stopped being entertainment, free and confidential support is available through GamblingCare.ie, and Problem Gambling Ireland offers advice and counselling.

All licensed operators must offer deposit limits and self-exclusion. Set them when you open the account rather than when you need them.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best betting offer in Ireland right now?

On headline value, QuinnBet’s €60 for a €10 bet. On ease of qualifying, Ladbrokes and Coral ask only €5 at 1.50 and return €30 in €5 tokens.

Are free bets still legal in Ireland?

Yes. The Gambling Regulation Act 2024 restricts inducements, but that section has not been commenced. Public welcome offers remain legal and widely available.

Do I pay tax on betting winnings in Ireland?

No. Winnings are tax free. Bookmakers pay a 2% duty on stakes instead.

Do free bets return the stake?

No. Almost every free bet here returns winnings only, so a €10 token at 2.00 pays €10 rather than €20.

How do I check a bookmaker is licensed in Ireland?

The GRAI publishes a register of licensed remote betting operators. Since 1 July 2026, taking online bets in Ireland without a GRAI licence has been illegal.
